Public beta terms. Effective July 3, 2026. The "not legal advice / not a will" boundary below remains central.
Terms of Use
Last drafted: July 2, 2026
The boundary that matters most:
KitKept is an organizer. It is not legal advice, and nothing written in it is a will, trust, power of attorney, advance directive, or any other legal document. It is also not medical, tax, financial, or insurance advice. Notes in KitKept — including the Wishes section — have no legal force. For documents that must hold up, use a licensed attorney in your state or your state's official statutory forms.
What KitKept is
KitKept is an on-device household information organizer: guided forms for recording where things are, that they exist, and who to contact. It stores pointers, not secrets, and it stays on your device (see Privacy).
Your responsibilities
- Accuracy and freshness are yours. KitKept displays what you type. An outdated or mistaken entry can mislead the very people it's meant to help — review yearly.
- Backups are yours. Because your binder never leaves your device, a lost device (or cleared browser data) means a lost binder unless you've exported a copy. A lost export passphrase means a permanently unreadable file; there is no recovery.
- Don't store secrets. The app warns you when entries look like passwords, SSNs, or full account numbers. Overriding those warnings is at your own risk.
- Physical copies are physical. Printed packs and plain backups are as private as wherever you put them.
The Readiness Coach
The free guide and the paid live coach provide general educational information from cited public sources, plus clearly-labeled practical judgment. They do not know your legal situation, do not create an attorney-client, doctor-patient, or advisor-client relationship, will refuse to draft legal documents, and can be wrong — verify anything consequential with the cited source or a professional.
Purchases
The Complete Kit is a one-time purchase processed by Stripe. The Readiness Coach is planned as a monthly subscription with a usage cap, but it is not on sale yet while live coach entitlement is finished. Prices are shown before you pay. The public beta may also include labeled full access for evaluation.
Acceptable use
Don't use KitKept to store other people's information without their permission, to violate any law, or to attempt to breach, probe, or overload the service.
Disclaimers & limitation of liability
KitKept is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apps 4 That LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for losses arising from reliance on information you or the app recorded, lost devices or passphrases, or unavailability of the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for KitKept in the twelve months before the claim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes
If these terms change, the date above changes with it, and material changes will be called out plainly before they apply.
